I must have been seven years old when this picture of my grandfather was taken.
My parents had each their own business, so I had to be 'parked' coming home from school and I spent a lot of time with 'Opa'.
We did not have a lot to say to each other, I was just too young I guess. But he had these wonderful bound folios of old magazines that I used to 'read' and, more importantly, look at the wonderful pictures. That must have been where I got my taste for seeing.
Later I went to boarding school and I remained a passionate observer from an early age.
