These are examples of photo collages
They are from students just like you, 2 from a highschool and one from a primary school in the Netherlands. Made during a photography workshop which I gave there.
Now it is your turn to make a photo collage,
Please think about the following points before you start:
- What is your story?
- Who are you and is that somehow visible from the photo-collage?
- Who is it for? Is it for somebody special or for a special occasion?
- What colours did you use? Is that reflecting the mood of the story?
- What elements reflect your culture, mood, or the time we live in?
Ideas in teaching:
Wouldn't it be nice if you could exchange photo collages with students from around the world?
You don't really have to send them, but make a decent photograph with your smartphone and e-mail that instead.
You could even connect to a faraway region like Timbuktu . .
I could then imagine stories like:
"Hi Ashvin, I am sorry to hear you puppy died, but here is a photo-collage to cheer you up"
or:
"Well thank you Ilse for the photo-collage you send, unfortunately here in Syria things are a little difficult right now, but living in a refugee camp gives me plenty time to make a photo collage for you. There is a dump from the UN just next door from us, I am sure I can find plenty material there" . .
